Between June 27 and July 1, 2022, Serbia’s first training school in the field of nanomaterials use in cancer diagnosis and treatment was held at the Rectorate building and the Science-Technology Park in Novi Sad. The training was organised by the BioSense Institute within the Nanofacts project. Over the five days, there were 21 lessons, four workshops, 19 lecturers, and 60 participants. Researchers, students, and even professors had the opportunity to upgrade their knowledge and learn about the latest research methods and results in that field from renowned local and foreign scientists.

The topic of the lectures and workshops was developing nanomaterials for targeted cancer therapy and diagnosis, developing biosensors for monitoring cancer, improving researchers’ knowledge and skills in developing critical and creative thinking, writing and implementing scientific projects, and communication skills.

The Nanofacts project is being realized together with partners Trinity College Dublin and Vienna University of Technology. It is financed by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme. More information is available on the project website, social media, and the BioSense Institute website.
