Marija Kostić
Position:Research trainee
Marija Kostić holds the position of Research Trainee at the Center for Sensing Technologies within the BioSense Institute. She completed her undergraduate and master’s academic studies at the Faculty of Technology Novi Sad, University of Novi Sad, Serbia in 2021 and 2022, respectively. Both her final thesis and master’s thesis focused on the development of biopolymer films and coatings as active packaging for fruits and vegetables. The results of the characterization of biopolymer films and coatings, along with their practical applications, have been published in an international journal and presented at several international conferences. Following completion of her master’s studies, Marija enrolled in doctoral studies at the Faculty of Technology Novi Sad, in the Biotechnology study program. Currently, her research involves the isolation and characterization of proteins with application in the development of biosensors. The theme of Marija’s doctoral thesis is related to lectins isolation and their implementation in the detection of pathogenic bacteria in food.
