MULTISENSE – A new approach for multiple gas sensing with high sensitivity and selectivity
Acronym: MULTISENSE
Implementation period: 01/12/2023 - 01/12/2026
GA number: 7069
Type of Project: Science Fund of the Republic Serbia
Project goal: MULTISENSE aims to develop a new gas analyzer whose working principle is based on splitting rotational levels of the gas molecules in a DC electric field and reaching resonance in an AC electric or magnetic field.
About the project: The major outcomes of the MULTISENSE are experimental confirmation of the new detection mechanism and the developed lab prototype of the gas analyzer for sensitive and selective detection of gases. The proposed mechanism favors a physisorption as the main interaction of gas sensing materials with gas molecules allowing the detection of a specific gas from a gas mixture with a high selectivity and sensitivity at room temperature. Due to their physicochemical properties and microstructure, 2D materials and metal-oxide semiconductors are chosen as materials of interest for developing new gas sensors. The project will have a long-term impact on the gas sensor market, medical devices for breath analysis, healthcare, and society in general.
