GREEN NUDGEs for sustainable FORESTry and AGRIcultural practices post 2027
Acronym: ForestAgriGreenNudge
Implementation period: 01/11/2024 - 30/04/2028
GA number: 101133987
Type of Project: Horizon Europe
Internet presentation: https://greennudge.eu/

Project goal: ForestAgriGreenNudges is a pioneering initiative dedicated to advancing sustainable farming and forestry through the strategic application of nudge theory. Nudges are defined as gentle interventions that shape decision-making by making beneficial choices more intuitive and accessible.
Project description: The project leverages insights from behavioral and cognitive psychology to help decision-makers overcome cognitive biases and adopt more sustainable practices. By using subtle interventions, such as changes in default choices, framing, and information presentation, it encourages optimal decision-making for a greener future. Nudging, based on psychological principles, involves designing environments that encourage decision-makers to make better choices without imposing obligations. These interventions will be tested and refined in real-world settings to maximize their practical value. The project’s key legacy will be the iNUDGE Academy, that will provide resources and guidelines for the effective implementation of sustainable practices. This resource will provide practical guidelines, implementation strategies, and risk assessments for integrating nudges into everyday practices, helping drive the shift towards sustainability. The iNUDGE Academy will provide actionable insights to facilitate the adoption of sustainable practices across the agricultural and forestry value chains. By addressing decision-making biases and offering practical, evidence-based nudges, ForestAgriGreenNudges accelerates the transition to sustainability, contributing to a greener and more resilient future for agriculture and forestry.
