Vitaly Efremov received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Biomedical Devices of Saint-Petersburg State Electrotechnical University “LETI” of Saint-Petersburg, Russia, in 2006. Vitaly’s main expertise is in the field of optical and microgravimetry sensors that are applied to blood coagulation monitoring and diagnostics. In addition, his research interests include but are not limited to microfluidics, optical design, finite-element simulations, immunoassays, design of experiments, and lasers. Vitaly is the author of 3 patents. He is currently involved in a few projects that aim to deliver novel integrated sensing platforms for animal blood diagnostics. His research work resulted in several international journal publications, and numerous papers published at international conferences. During his research career, he was involved in 4 international projects.
