Shyamal Mondal
Position:Senior researcher in the Center for sensing technologies
Shyamal received his Ph.D. in 2018 from the University of Calcutta, Kolkata. He did his research work at Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics in experimental surface physics. He also worked as an ICTP-TRIL postdoctoral researcher for over two years in FBK, Italy. He has been working as an assistant professor in Physics at Maharaja Manindra College, Kolkata since 2015.
His research interest is based on the nano structurization of materials by deposition of size-selected nanoclusters or nanoparticles, thin films in ultra-high vacuum (UHV), and implantation of ions by broad and focused ion beams. He has experience in nanofabrication processes in cleanroom environments like electron beam lithography (EBL), focused ion beam (FIB), and ultra-high vacuum deposition. Shyamal has expertise in various material characterization techniques like SEM, TEM, AFM, and XPS. He has presented at numerous conferences, authored many peer-reviewed articles in reputed journals, and has one successful patent application.
