Marina Ljubenović earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Telecommunications and Signal Processing from the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad in 2010 and 2015, respectively. She completed her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon in 2018. During her doctoral studies, she was a fellow within the Marie Curie Innovative Training Network, working as an Early Stage Researcher at the Institute for Telecommunications in Lisbon.

Following her Ph.D., Marina joined the Vision Lab at the University of Antwerp, Belgium, in 2019 as a Postdoctoral Researcher, where she contributed to advanced imaging research. She was later awarded a prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship (MSCA IF), which she is completed at the Center for Cultural Heritage Technology, Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, in Venice, Italy. Her research focuses on the development of novel model-based and machine learning algorithms for image restoration and reconstruction across various imaging domains, including terahertz, hyperspectral, and document imaging.

In addition to her academic work, Marina is the co-founder and CTO of Veles Sense, a Serbia-based startup that develops AI-driven solutions for early stress detection in vineyards, combining drone imagery with advanced neural network models to support sustainable viticulture.
