Branislav Živaljević

Branislav Živaljević is a Research Associate at the BioSense Institute, employed at the Center for Information Technologies, and a PhD student at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad. He completed his undergraduate studies in 2017 and his master’s studies in 2019 in Geoinformatics. His research focuses on remote sensing and GIS, with research topics including yield prediction based on satellite imagery, harvest date prediction, as well as the crop rotation analysis and modelling. He has participated in several international conferences and training schools, including TAT23 (Trans-Atlantic Training 2023) and the Central & Eastern Europe Autumn School: From Climate Projections to Climate Impacts via Regional Downscaling, as well as the Seminar on the Application of FY Meteorological Satellites Products for Belt and Road Countries, held in China and organized by Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology (NUIST). As a junior researcher, he spent time in Oslo at the CICERO Center for International Climate Research. During 2024, he also spent one month at Wageningen University & Research in the Netherlands, where he worked on his doctoral dissertation. The title of his PhD research is: “Use of satellite vegetation indices in assessing the drought effect on agricultural crops yield in Vojvodina”.
