Dr Vitalij Efremov doktorirao je na temu medicinskih uređaja, sistema i tehnologija. Njegova istraživačka interesovanja usmerena su na razvoj MEMS senzora, biofiziku i bioanalitičku hemiju, sa jakim fokusom na praćenje i dijagnostiku u krvi. Trenutno je uključen u nekoliko projekata koji imaju za cilj da isporuče nove integrisane senzorske platforme za dijagnostiku životinjske krvi , prvenstveno za markere koagulacije i pridružene bolesti. Vitalijev istraživački rad rezultirao je brojnim međunarodnim publikacijama u časopisima i nekoliko radova objavljenih na međunarodnim konferencijama. Tokom istraživačke karijere bio je uključen u 4 međunarodna projekta.
