Jelena Ačanski is a third year PhD student with research area in taxonomy, systematic and biogeography of hoverflies (Diptera:Syrphidae). Methods that she mostly used in her research are insect landmark and semi-landmark geometric morphometric, statistical analysis of shape, species distribution and ecological niche analysis. Jelena, for the first time, introduced geometric morphometry on male genitalia and statistic analysis of ecological parameters for solving taxonomical problems in hoverfly family. She is also the author and coordinator on Balkan hoverflies database, which included collections from many European museums..

Andrijana Andrić received BSc degree in biology in 2006, MSc degree (module Nature Conservation and Sustainable Development) in 2007 and PhD degree in 2015, from the Department of Biology and Ecology, Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad. She is directed towards the discovery of complex plant-insect relationships, focusing on morphological and genetic analysis of insects and their host plants, in order to obtain data on their biology and ecology as basis for making valid conservation decisions.

Dragana Bajović received a dipl. ing. degree from the School of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade, Serbia, in August 2007, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, and Instituto de Sistemas e Robótica (ISR), Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Lisbon, Portugal, in May 2013. She also holds a B.M.Ed. degree from the School of Music, University of Belgrade. Since October 2013, she has been a research fellow at the BioSense Center, University of Novi Sad, Serbia. From June to September 2013, she was a postdoctoral researcher at IST. Her research interests include statistical signal processing and large deviations analysis for sensor networks. Full CV.

Slobodan Birgermajer was born in 1981. in Subotica. He received electrical engineering degree from Technical College, Subotica, Serbia, in 2006, and BSc and MSc degrees in electrical and computer engineering from Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, Serbia, in 2012, where he is currently a third year PhD student and employed as a researcher in RF and microwave engineering. Golden Paragraph Tamara Blagojević is a second year PhD student at the Department of Archaeology, Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade. Her research area includes palaeodemography, with a focus on Neolithic Demographic Transition and changes in population dynamics of Early Neolithic populations in Europe. The method she uses in her research is the summed calibrated radiocarbon probability distributions method. Wider area of her interest includes: Mesolithic and Neolithic periods in the Balkans; the role of animals in processes of Neolithization of different regions in Europe. She is engaged in the ERC project BIRTH: Births, mothers and babies: Prehistoric fertility in the Balkans between 10000-5000 cal BC (PI: prof. dr. Sofija Stefanović), as a Research Associate.

Sanja Brdar is a researcher at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, Serbia. She received MSc degree from the University of Novi Sad in 2007. From June 2007 until September 2009, she had been working in Telvent DMS as software developer responsible for enterprise database design and development, data transformation tools and implementation of signal processing algorithms. Currently, she works toward the PhD degree and participates in projects within BioSense center. In 2010  she was awarded a ten-month Basileus fellowship and spent it for visiting Bioinformatics Laboratory at University of Ljubljana. Her research interests include Machine Learning, Data Mining and Bioinformatics. More specifically, she works on ensemble methods, data fusion, clustering and predictive modeling with applications in biology, agriculture, environmental sciences and health.

Vesna Crnojević Bengin obtains Dipl. Ing. University of Novi Sad 1994, MSc University of Belgrade 1997, PhD University of Novi Sad 2006. She is associate professor at FTS, UNS, Co-founder of the BioSense Center and Leader of the research group for microelectronics and microwave engineering. She authored more than 90 conference and journal papers and three books. She takes participation in the numerous national and international projects and different activities:
Coordinator of two FP7 and two EUREKA! research projects, as well as a participant in many other FP7, COST, IPA and national research projects.

Associate Editor of the International Journal of Electronics, published by Taylor & Francis, member of several international Technical Program Committees, reviewer for leading scientific journals such as Proceedings of IEEE, IEEE MWJCL and IET Microwave, Antennas & Propagation.

From 2008 to 2011, representative of Group 11 in the General Assembly of the European Microwave Association (EuMA). From 2011-today, the leader of the EuMA’s topical group MAGEO – Microwave Applications in Agriculture, Environment and Earth Observation.

Dr Crnojević is the Head of Department for Power, Electronics and Communications at University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Technical Sciences – largest and one of the most significant university departments in Serbia, with almost 200 hundred employees and 15 FP7 projects.

Dr Vladimir Crnojević is the director of BioSense Center, multidisciplinary research center devoted to deployment of state-of-the-art ICT solutions in agriculture, forestry and environment. BioSense center is coordinating institution of several FP7 project: AgroSense, BalkanGEONet, MultiWaveS. Its pilot site is included in top 30 European highly instrumented observational sites within the FP7 project EXPEER. Dr Crnojević is the founder of the URSUS research group who realized several projects of technology transfer for domestic industrial clients. This group coordinates two EUREKA! projects and has published many internationally recognized scientific papers and technical solutions.
Dr Vladimir Crnojević authored or co-authored more than 50 conference and journal papers. He is the coordinator of several FP7 projects, two EUREKA! research projects for technology transfer, one national project of technology development, as well as participant in several other FP7, COST and national research projects. Dr Crnojević is also the coordinator of the projects TR-11022 and III44003 funded by the Serbian Ministry of science and technology development.
He has two patent applications (one US) and one internationally recognized improvement of software used world-wide.
Dr Crnojevic served as a reviewer for the most eminent international journals like IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, IEEE Signal Processing Letters, EURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing and several others. His main research interests include image processing, pattern recognition and wireless sensor networks.

Golden Paragraph Norbert Cselyuszka was born in Sombor, Republic of Serbia in 1985. He received the PhD degree from the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, Serbia, in 2015 in the field of acoustic metamaterials. His main research interest is EM and acoustic artifical materials (metamaterials), and interaction between electromagnetic/acoustic fields and artificial engineered materials. He has participated in a number of national and international research projects and published four journal papers and nine international conference papers.

In 2009, Georges Dubourg received the engineer degree in electronics from the University of Sciences and Technologies in Bordeaux. He received his Ph.D degree in microelectronic from the University of Bordeaux in 2012. His research work consisted in the fabrication of organic microcantilevers, their characterization and their potential application as bio/chemical sensors. During his Ph.D thesis, He introduced a new activity in the laboratory concerning organic MEMS for biosensing applications and, then, he acquired a strong background in organic MEMS fabrication. From January 2013 to July 2014, he worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the IEMN where he developed an active microfluidic device integrating electroosmotic micropumps, sensor temperature and microheaters. With this project, He acquired a strong background in simulation, design and microfabrication of microfluidic devices. Furthermore, he keeps a real interest in the bio/chemical research application area, in which he wants to focus his future research by the development of wireless and user-friendly innovative sensing microdevices for agriculture and environmental applications.

Golden Paragraph Bojana Ivošević is working on utilizing Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) for efficient monitoring of croplands, freshwaters, and terrains. She hails from a background in biology and ecology. She initiated her PhD in Kyungpook National University, South Korea, where she gained 2 years of experience with UAVs. She continued to pursue her field of interest at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad, Serbia. Her current research focus is to implement UAV technology in precision agriculture to calculate vegetation indices important for agricultural crop yield production. She is also interested in enforcing UAVs for animal detection and counting, monitoring algae bloom, and seasonal effects on the ecosystem.

Dušan Jakovetić obtained a dipl. ing. degree from the School of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade, Serbia, in August 2007, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, and Instituto de Sistemas e Robótica (ISR), Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Lisbon, Portugal, in May 2013. From June to September 2013, he was a postdoctoral researcher at IST. Since October 2013, he is a research fellow at the BioSense Center, University of Novi Sad, Serbia. Nikolina Janković works at the BioSense Center as a researcher. She received PhD degree from the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, Serbia in 2013 in the field of microwave multi-band filters. Her main research interests are in the design of microwave passive devices, application of artificial EM materials (metamaterials), and metatronics. She has participated in a number of national and international research projects and published five journal papers and eleven international conference papers. In addition, she works as administrative and financial manager of the FP7 project InnoSense.

Goran Kitić works at the BioSense Institute as a researcher. He received PhD degree from the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, Serbia in 2016 in the field of microwave soil moisture sensors. Because of the nature of his research work, Goran Kitić developed experience in the field of different fabrication technologies (LTCC, thin&thick film technology, PCB, machining and 3D printing) and characterization methods. His research work resulted in two international journal publications, and numerous papers published on international conferences. During his research career he was involved in 13 international and national projects.

Predrag Lugonja is a research assistant at BioSense Center. He graduated in 2008 at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, Department of Power, Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering. He is currently in the second year of his PhD studies at the Faculty of Technical Sciences. Since 2009, he has been working at BioSense Center in the fields of GIS and remote sensing. Golden Paragraph Oskar Marko is a researcher at BioSense Institute highly interested in data analytics and image processing in agriculture. He is currently at the 2nd of PhD studies of electrical engineering at University of Novi Sad, Serbia, where he got his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in the same area. He spent the 3rd year of his undergraduate studies at City University London, where he did his final BEng project in signal processing. He was the leader of BioSense's team, which proposed a novel technical solution for yield prediction and seed variety selection that led them to the finals of Syngenta Crop Challenge.

Responsible for positive financial and scientific outcome of projects. Research in self-organized, biomimetic, and 2-D nanostructures for application in photonics, energy harvesting, nanomedicine

2004 – 2007: Principal research fellow with Integrated Microsystems Austria GmbH, Wiener Neustadt, Austria. Diverse projects in microsystem technologies, mechatronics and biophysics. Notable – scientific manager of European Space Agency project “MEMS for spacecraft application” 2004 – 2008.

1987 – 2002: Senior Research Fellow with IHTM - Institute of Microelectronic Technologies and Single Crystals, Belgrade, Serbia. Responsible for design of various MEMS devices (pressure, flow and temperature sensors, infrared detectors), development of MEMS fabrication processes.
Through his career, starting in process industry, followed by MEMS technology and finally fully engaged in nanotechnology, Dr. Matovic gathered a wide experience in cross-connections between distinct fields of science, technology and engineering. This results with a pronounced ability in problem solving.

Golden Paragraph Marija Miličić is a researcher at BioSense institute and a PhD student on Faculty of Sciences. From 2013-2017, she was a scholarship holder of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological development of Republic of Serbia for PhD students. She is also a member of multidisciplinary group LIBRe (Laboratory for Integrative Biodiversity Research) working under the Finnish Museum of Natural History – University of Helsinki, dealing with biodiversity informatics, biogeography and conservation biology. Her research interests are focused towards the effects of climate change on ecosystem functioning, species distribution modelling and conservation.

Dr. Georgios Niarchos is a Research Fellow in the Microelectronics Group of BioSense Center in Novi Sad. He has a B.Sc. of Physics from the University of Athens (2006), Greece and has received his M.Sc. (2008) and PhD in Microelectronics (2013) from the University of Athens in collaboration with the National Center for Scientific Research “Demokritos”. During his PhD, he also held a 2-month position of Visiting Scholar in the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, USA working on novel flexible nanogenerators for Energy Harvesting applications. He was a Post-Doctoral Research Associate for 18 months in the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (USA), where he worked in Remote Sensing of chemical compounds for security applications. Since October 1st 2014, he is a member in the BioSense Center and he is currently working on the development of novel NOx and NDVI sensors. His research interests include MEMS, Energy Harvesting, Micro- and Nano-fabrication and Optics.

Marko Panić obtains MSc in electrical engineering from Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad in 2010. He works as research assistant at BioSense Research Center in the field of image processing, computer vision and machine learning, His particular research interests are image and video quality assessment, remote sensing and traffic surveillance. Vasa Radonić is senior researcher at Biosense center. He received the B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph. D. degrees from the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, Serbia, in 2004, 2007 and 2010 respectively. He is currently working in the field of RF and microwave engineering. Dr Radonic has authored or co-authored about 50 conference, letter and journal papers and he is participant in several FP7, COST, Eureka and national research projects. His main research interests are in the design of novel metamaterial unit cells and artificial electromagnetic materials, design of conventional and metamaterial-based microwave passive devices and antenna design.

Dr Radonic is the recipient of the award granted by the European Microwave Accosication for the best student paper at MMS conference in 2008, as well as the recipient of the Department for Power, Electronic and Telecommunication Award for Scientific Contribution in 2008.

Golden Paragraph Slavica Savić obtained her BSc degree in 2002. from the Faculty of Physical Chemistry, University of Belgrade. In 2009. she received her PhD degree in Materials in electronics, Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad. From Jan 2003-Sept. 2008 she worked at Institute of Technical Sciences of the Serbian Academy of Science and Arts as research assistant. From Sept. 2008.-July 2015 she worked as research assistant (2008.-2010), research fellow (2010- March 2015) and senior research fellow (April 2015-July 2015) at Department of Material Science at Institute for Multidisciplinary Research, University of Belgrade. From July 2012 to December 2012 she was a visiting research scientist (postdoctoral research fellow) at Pontificia Universidade Catolica (PUC) Rio de Janeiro, Brasil.. From July 2015. she is senior research fellow at BioSense Institute.

Golden Paragraph Sofija Stefanović obtained her BA degree in Archaeology (1995), MSc degree in Anthropology (2001), and a PhD in Anthropology (2006) at the University of Belgrade. Dr Stefanović is the first scientist from Serbia who is supported by the European Research Council for the BIRTH project, and leader of the research group for bioarchaeology at the BioSense. Dr Stefanović authored more than 40 journal papers, three books, and 40 conference papers. Dr Stefanović participated in FP7 BEAN project, and she is the coordinator of the project (III47001), funded by the Serbian Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development. Dr Stefanović is a member of the advisory board of the Archaeologia Austriaca, published by Austrian Academy of Sciences Press; member of the scientific commission of UISPP (International Union for Prehistoric and Protohistoric Sciences); President of the Board of the Veselin Lučić Foundation (University of Belgrade); member of the Expert group for perspectives of junior scientists from the Balkans, founded by the German National Academy of Sciences, as a part of the Berlin process. Dr Stefanović worked as a consultant for cultural heritage for the mining company Rio Tinto (2008-2011), for the Council of Europe (2012), and was one of the authors of the Heritage Assessment Report for Serbian heritage. She is a member of the World Archaeological Congress, the European Association of Archaeologists, and the American Association of Physical Anthropologists. Her work in the field of bioarchaeology is devoted to investigating the ancient biosystems in order to obtain understanding of the phenomena relevant for the modern populations.

Branko Sikoparija, born in 1979, has PhD in Biology and works as senior researcher at BioSense Institute and Quality manager at Laboratory for palynology - UNSPMF (ISO17025). He is a highly-conscientious, self-motivated and practiced researcher with a strong background in environmental science, ecology, aerobiology, allergy & health, modelling & forecasting. Branko Sikoparija is accomplished writer and reviewer for multiple scientific research journals. He co-authored three chapters in international monograph on allergenic pollen and published 32 scientific papers and more than 50 other scientific publications (GoogleSchoolarCitations H-index=14). As commercially-aware researcher, Branko Sikoparija developed skills for applying for funding and he also acted as the investigator on a number national and international research projects (Ministry of Science-Serbia, SNSF-SCOPES, IPA, WUS-CEP&CDP+, EC-HORIZON2020). He coordinated the registration of Protected Designations of Origin for Fruska Gora Lime Tree Honey and has been Serbian representative in two COST Actions ES0603 and FA1203. He is very successful in developing networks and collaborations both interdisciplinary and cross disciplinary.

Milica Trajkovic is employed as an Innovation and Business Development Assistant. She graduated at the University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Technical Sciences and obtained her M.Sc. degree in the area of Industrial Engineering and Management. During her studies, she was an active member of student organization, where she was a project leader of an international project and Vice President for Public Relations. Since Milica was one of the best students, she has been rewarded with a Merit by the University and by the government of the Republic of Serbia for her work. In addition, she won three first places on international Business Case Study competitions, among other places and special awards. Currently, her main responsibilities within the BioSense Institute are writing project proposals, project management assistance, project reporting, business administration assistance, organization of trainings and other types of events.

Dušanka Vujanović is a researcher in the field of ecology, currently working toward her PhD in ecology sciences. She has participated in a wide range of projects covering a variety of ecological topics with extensive field work experience, including surveys, data collection and data analysis. She is engaged in forest and grassland ecosystems research. She is LTER site coordinator for Fruška gora and Koviljsko-petrovaradinski rit within LTER Serbian network. Dušanka Vujanović je istraživač iz oblasti ekologije, trenutno završava doktorske studije iz ekoloških nauka. Učestvovala je na brojnim naučno-istraživačkim projektima iz oblasti bioloških i ekoloških nauka. Radi na istraživanju livadskih i šumskih ekosistema. Koordinator je LTER sajta Fruška gora i Koviljsko-petrovaradinski rit u okviru LTER mreže Srbije.

Golden Paragraph Ivana Živaljević is Research Associate on the ERC Project BIRTH: Births, mothers and babies: prehistoric fertility in the Balkans between 10,000-5000 BC. As an archaeozoologist, she is especially interested in the topics of fishing, hunting and origins of animal domestication. Her current research is in the domain of ichtyoarchaeology, i. e. it focuses on the role of fish and fishing in the formation of Mesolithic-Neolithic settlements in the Danube Gorges. Main research questions she addresses are the choice of exploited species and fish size estimations, the role and effects of aquatic diet on human health and fertility, modification of fish remains (teeth) in order to adorn human bodies, the display of elements of fish anatomy in sculpture, and the reconstruction and interpretation of fishing and its economic and social aspects.
